Darcy began riding horses 34 years ago with hunter pleasure training with Collette McMillan of Mystic
Plains Arabians, and was competing in Class A shows 4 months later. Since then, her show record has
grown quite impressively. Although a trainer of all breeds of horse, she has a fondness for Arabians and
their crosses.
For the Arabian divisions, she is a multiple National Champion in Half-Arabian Working Hunter Over
Fences in both the Open and Amateur Owner divisions, as well as Sport Horse In-Hand, and Reserve
National Champion in Arabian Hunter Pleasure for Adult Amateur Owners.

Darcy has been awarded National Top Ten Awards in Dressage Training and First Level, Sport Horse
Show Hack, Arabian and Half-Arabian Hunter Pleasure, Arabian and Half-Arabian English Show Hack, ,
Arabian Jumpers, Half-Arabian Side Saddle, Arabian Country English Pleasure, Hunter Seat Equitation
Over Fences, Hunter Seat Equitation Flat, Saddle Seat Equitation, Horsemanship, and Half-Arabian
English Pleasure.

Darcy has also competed extensively on the Friesian Show Circuit! In 2010 at IFSHA’s World Show,
Damron’s mare Basksera Knight claimed 8 World and National titles in Sport Horse In Hand, Senior
Mares In Hand, Dressage Suitability, Walk/Trot Pleasure Open and Amateur, English Pleasure Hunt Seat
Juvenile Rider, Walk/Trot Riders 10 & Under and English Pleasure Juvenile Rider. They returned in 2012
and earned the coveted Part Bred High Point award. The 8-year old Friesian/Arabian cross mare was
ridden by a number of Darcy's friends in pursuit of that prize. Sera competed and won six World
Champion titles, five National Champion titles as well as five Reserve World and National Champion
awards. Sera was awarded the Leoness Sport Horses Part Bred Friesian High Point Perpetual Trophy and
the Jeff Wonnell Memorial Versatility High Point Trophy. The Versatility Trophy is awarded to the All-
Around High point horse which competes in at least five different disciplines.

Darcy has also teamed with Three Day Ranch as the Hunter Pleasure and Dressage trainer for Sjoerd, who
was awarded the 2011 United States Equestrian Federation Horse Of The Year!
Darcy Damron was born and raised in San Diego. She has been a member of the Tierra Del Norte Arabian
Horse Association since 1988 (now known as San Diego Arabian Horse Association, of which she still is
a member), Southern Arizona Arabian Horse Association, the Greater San Diego Hunter Jumper
